Burdwan District Mahatma Gandhi Seva SadanSkill Development & Employment
The BDMGSS has provided employment to poor women by developing their skills and employing them in many sectors by providing them with much vocational training. Also financial assistance for slum children, single parents, orphans living in foster care, financial assistance, etc. It’s so fun to get to see everyone make a print, and then turn that print into a cute picture, or make a thing by cutting bamboo, paper, doll, handmade lamps, etc. Without a doubt, we can say that this is a big step toward success.
Social Awareness
BDMGSS also arranges awareness camps and rallies. Many villagers, local school teachers, students, and members of the organization participated in the program. Many students from different schools participate in this rally and by organizing this event we create awareness among the people, in the society and solve the problems of their daily life.
Women’s Empowerment
Women are the backbone of our society. It is such a blessing to see the smile and excitement on their faces. Vocational Training is an indigenous component of our work culture for assisting our children, women, girls, and everyone to become self-reliant. We have conducted training on soft toy making, cutting and tailoring, candle making, and more for them to empower them. We also work specifically on inclusion activities wherein children, women, and their parents/siblings are trained together.
Education & Literacy Program
BDMGSS organized adult & child education centers and it has smoothly run under the proper supervision of our organization in the rural areas. We all know that to access a liveable life education is very important but there are many children who can not be a part of our education system of either money problems or family problems. To solve their problem we have arranged free educational classes. Our team members take classes and prepare them with the basic education so that they can easily get a livelihood to spend their life with financial stability.
Environment & Forests
We all need to be aware of increasing the number of greens. At present pollution and deforestation for industrialization and settlement are slowly pushing our nature to the brink of destruction. So we made an effort and we also set up a tree-planting program and some greenery projects.
